ralph wilson

Ralph Holland Wilson is a freelance writer and communication consultant living in Waterdown, Ontario. He recently completed a book on Chedoke Hospital, Hamilton, before beginning research on the book Plastics Pioneers for GE Plastics Canada in Cobourg.

Born in Ottawa in 1953, Wilson worked as a reporter for the Ottawa Citizen, United Press Canada and the Edmonton Sun before moving to the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1981 as a public affairs officer in Calgary. He was transferred to Montreal in 1984 where he served as CPR's manager, employee communications, responsible for production of CPR News, the railway's award-winning company newspaper. He left the CPR in 1999. Today he lives in Waterdown with his wife Anne.

GE Advanced Materials of Cobourg is approaching its 40th anniversary of operation. To mark the occasion, the Cobourg Operation is producing a 100-page book to celebrate the contributions of its employees to the company and to the community.

GE Advanced Materials, Cobourg, began its existence as Marbon Chemicals, then became a Borg Warner operation, and now is operated by GE Plastics Canada.

The Cobourg Operation is located at the east end of the town of Cobourg, Ontario, about 80 kilometres east of Toronto on the shoreline of Lake Ontario.
